Yea, baby! Feeling good today! Feeling good for several reasons. And I must say, I am saying this even though I'm fighting off a cold.
Reason #1: Just ran about 4 miles and on my runners high. Felt great! I had to talk myself into going, of course. So glad I did. It's overcast and quite windy. Picked a bit longer way this time, and I think I could have kept going. No rain and no beating, hot sun. Just right. I seriously need some new running clothes, though. And some sunglasses. Any recommendations??? I fear cars kicking up rocks at me.
Reason #2: Lost another 1.6lbs this week. Yea for me. Not easy being back on Weight Watchers but hey...it's a start.
Reason #3: My little man turned 3 yesterday! I cannot believe it. He's getting so big and so quickly. I love that he's learning and talking up a storm. He's at such a cool age. We're having a B-day party for him tomorrow.
Reason #4: Going to sign up for another 5K this evening. This one's 2 weeks away, so it'll be my 1st run post-baby. Should be fun and a jump-start into running for real again.
Reason #5: I'm feeling way more motivated now that I am able to run. It feels good to be doing something active again. I have now given myself a goal. To complete a half marathon sometime this year. Now to pick one and commit!.
I just wanted to share one more thing. I have been reading my runner-friends' stories of their races, routes and experiences, and I always can laugh and relate. Well, I finally have had some weird-o honk at me the other day. I thought of my runner-friends. Ha! Anyhow, glad to know I'm "in the mix" in the running world again! Feels awesome. :)
I don't get honked at very often but I have. I don't get annoyed like some of my other running friends. Anyone that thinks I look hot or "sexy" with me sweating from head to toe..... well honk away! haha
ReplyDeleteI think having a goal to run a 1/2 this year is a great idea! if you wanna make a trip to MN on October 22 that'd be cool! ;) Anna and I are running the same 1/2 we ran together last year. I told myself in 2009 that I was running a half in 2010 and a full in 2011. I am less than two months from reaching my long term goal! 13.1 miles might seem scary... but its not. I can't wait till you start training! :D
Good job on your loss too! Lots of things to be excited about this week it seems! :)
