I am officially throwing in the towel, giving in and joining the rest of the runners of the world. I decided to blog about my excursions, because I'm now a mommy of 2. This ought to be interesting! Managing 2 kids, working full-time, taking care of a household and getting in mommy time (ie...running/working out, bathing/showering, doing anything other than watching the Cartoon Network, changing diapers or wiping noses). But mainly I'm blogging to make my self accountable. If I have to write about my life as a runner, well then, I better run! Right?
So, today marks 4 weeks post baby #2. My body is mostly healed. 2nd degree tearing and major breastfeeding issues at the start took me by surprise. Still, here I am. I have slowly entered the gym and ran a few times, but alas...I want to feel enlightened and become "a runner" again. I have been mostly on the treadmill these days, but I am curious and enticed to try what those outdoor runners do. How do they do it? I feel like they are such rockstars.
This is my goal - and YES, I'm putting it in writing.
1. Sign up for 5K BWC in June. (starting slow and picking a short distance)
2. Train for my first 1/2 marathon for sometime this year (possibly the Philly Half in Nov.?)
3. Lose 30ish lbs (Weight Watchers is my new best friend).
So there it is. Take it or leave it.
PS. Did I mention I have to go back to work in May!? Ugh!
